In a completely unexpected turn around, the owners of the broadcast rights to Are You Being Served? have signed an agreement to continue allowing PBS stations to license the series.
Here's the content of the email message we received today from our program distributor:
Subject: Are You Being Served? / Are You Being Served? Again! / Allo Allo

I am pleased to announce that effective today the three titles in the header of this email have been returned to our active sales catalog after having been held hostage by an agent for one of the writers.
This is certainly good news for all.
Therefore, the series will be back in its regular Monday through Friday time slot of 7:30 p.m. effective Wednesday, September 18. The series will re-set and will begin with the first episode.
This also means that The Last of the Summer Wine will stay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday nights and allow us to keep our original plan of a double dose of As Time Goes By at 8 and 8:30 p.m.
