Start-Up: Two Rhode Island Companies Follow Their Dreams in November
That's the question explored by a series called Start Up. According to creator Gary Bredow:
I believe that this is the age of the entrepreneur, and as job security has increasingly become a thing of the past, we have no choice but to become self-reliant. Small business is the foundation of growth in America, and it truly starts with one person, with one vision.Since starting the series on WSBE Learn, we double up two episodes of Start Up each week, on Wednesdays at 10 and 10:30 p.m. In November, Start Up features two Rhode Island businesses in upcoming episodes.
On November 18 at 10:30 p.m. Episode 10: Bringing Home the Chickens visits with Drake Paten, the owner of Cluck!, an urban farm and garden supply focused on helping customers adapt and maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The following week, November 25 also at 10:30 p.m., Start Up's Episode 12: Red or Oyster White travels to South Kingstown to visit Perry Raso, owner of Matunuck Oyster Bar, where they are committed to uniting fresh, locally grown produce with farm-raised and wild-caught seafood.
[On a related note, Matunuck Oyster Bar returns for a second year as a participating restaurant in our annual food and wine tasting event, An Evening Uncorked. Mark you calendar for Saturday, April 9, 2016.]
